i don’t think it was created so that you could get something you want… probably some girl did a cute pose accidentally and realized she gets what she wants everytime she does that cute pose…
although not everyone likes aegyo, a lot of people (girls, teenage girls actually) do it nowadays to get what they want.
and it’s effective, either because the receiver is charmed by the cute aegyo (awww you’re so cute and adorable!”), or that the receiver couldn’t take it anymore (“fine, i’ll give it to you, just stop it, i wanna puke!”) they just give in to the girl’s wants… ^__^
