Universities in Korea are awesome because of:
1. Their cool Korean college jackets!
2. Meetings [λ―ΈνŒ…] – Group blind dates. It’s a great way to meet new people and make new friends (and get dates ;))
3. Academics are easier (relative speaking)
4. Professors in Korea are more accessible.
5. Big festivals and Kpop concerts!
6. MT’s (Membership Training). It’s a great way to get closer to your classmates.

Nice explanation! πŸ˜€ I’m planning to go for a 1 year exchange in korea so I did some researches about korean uni life and stuff. It’s really different than the uni life here in germany! Most of the points you pick out are also my favorite! Like college jackets, big festivals and meetings. πŸ˜‰
Well in germany uni life is for most of students the best part in their life. And that’s because of many reasons.
    1. it’s common to move out from your parents house. So you will have the most freedom ever.
    2. you can (almost) do what you want without anyone yelling at you.
    3. “department parties” every semester there are many parties from each major.
    4. there is only 1 exam period at the end of semester

I think uni life in germany is not so stressful as in other countries like Korea. Unless you intend to study more than 1 major or you seek high marks and stuff. They give you much freedom and much responsibility too.

True stories!! I am from Yonsei University and I love how Korean students can just go to classes wearing Samdidas, hoodies, sweatpants and hats! Not forgetting the letterman jacket as well!
Oh and I also am majoring in International Studies, but ugh mine school is totally different from yours.
I have so many written exams as well as presentations and never-ending papers,
but oh well Korean life is so much fun so I should not be too depressed about it hehe ^^

I live in Canada, I think the universities here are similar to the United States. We don’t really get to know our professors as well. We have 1 exam each semester, 2 semesters….pretty standard like United States so I don’t think I need to go into detail to much about that. Could you guys do more videos on Korean Universities? This seems really interesting to know about, and is Eric an exchange student? Details of him would be nice. Thanks.

    I apologize.
    Koreans love Russian?

    • night dress says:

Nah! I don’t think so, But Koreans are so much close to their culture and their people, They Mostly not open up first, You ave to approach them first and Be Nicely respectful to them,

  5. Maria says:

nice video! my parents don’t let me apply to the korean universities=( as about Russian ones, it depends on the city, major, administration..in the same uni students of one department are studying from morning till night, have a lot of homework and almost no entertainment, in the other department they do nothing, have their own radio, a lot of parties and competitions.. about professors – I have a lot of professors who is easy-going and if you are not self-loving and don’t show off but try to study well and be polite, it’s even possible to celebrate smth with them even right during your class as we did with our professor of French on Christmas or go somewhere or just have nice talks)

If you want to go to a Korean University, do they only except you if you know Korean? And Do you need to know Korean fluently to go to one?

Is this for real? I’m a foreigner studying in SK and I absolutely hate my education. Good job at masking the real university life situation for international students. HE IS KOREAN and HE PROBABLY SPEAKS KOREAN FLUENTLY and that’s why he is doing okay with it. But, foreigners, take it from me. If you like KPOP and just want to have fun then sure come and study in Korea, but if you’re about quality education, you might wanna think of another option.

  8. Eunna says:

@BBB Hi! Can you explain more about your situation? Why do you hate the education there? I’m planning to study in South Korea next year and I would really like it if you can give me a heads up about the life there as a foreign student. Thank you!

  9. Yeol says:

Wow. Cool. Here in PH, uni life (college) is the hardest part. Cause this is what makes you in the future so the academics are much much harder, there’s an enormous amount of pressure and a lot more.

    P.S: I don’t even have a social life since I get to college. TT_TT

It sounds pretty cool to experience university life in Korea. ^^

Well, uni life here in Brazil is really cool I think. We have public unis which you don’t have to pay for tuition and they are pretty hard to get in. There’s usually a magna class for freshmen and each department holds their first meeting to instruct students about their courses. There are many parties, happy hours, drinking competitions, concerts… Most professors are accessible here, even the foreign ones. We have C.A.s, which stands for Academic Centers. These are basically spaces where you can get together with other students that do the same major as you do, and you can also request for the classes you wanna take there and things like that. Evaluation depends a lot on the professor. Some professors do surprise quizes every week, some do just an exam, some ask students to hand in lots of paper work… I guess that’s it. ^^

A great way to spend a pleasant time. Concerts have a special meaning for me, a cool opportunity to have fun, I always find cheap concert tickets here
