August 5th

For those of you that missed out on all the beautiful flower festivals in the spring can join this unique summer festival in Seoul. The lotus flower, a symbol of Buddhist culture and beauty, starts to bloom in the heat of the summer. And what better way to enjoy the beauty of a summer bloom than at one of Seoul’s most important Buddhist temples, Bongwonsa Temple. In addition to the flowers, you can enjoy various hands-on cultural activities. Stopping to smell the flowers is how Buddhist monks deal with the heat of summer.
