Korean Stereotypes: Blood Type Personalities

According to Korean stereotypes, a person’s blood type tells can tell what kind of personality a person has. These stereotypes are really fun conversation topics in Korea, and if you’re traveling to Korea or trying to make Korean friends, you should definitely find out what kinds of personalities people think you have!

This is not  comprehensive list, but here are a few personality traits for blood types according to Korean superstition:

Korean people stereotype people with blood type A as introverted, considerate, self-conscious, patient, unable to express emotions well and tend to be perfectionists.
Korean people stereotype people with blood type B as creative, individualistic, self-centered, inconsiderate and passionate.
Korean people stereotype people with blood type AB as critical, indecisive, unpredictable, emotional and are most likely to be geniuses.
Korean people stereotype people with blood type O as being leaders, easygoing, friendly, outgoing.

What blood type are you? Do you think these match up with your real personalities? Leave a comment! 🙂

Thanks for the regular updates on this great website! Nice video like always! 🙂
I don’t know which blood type I have, but based on these stereotypes I would say I got A or AB… haha
Well, I will remember this when I find out one day, maybe it will fit! 😀

This video is very interesting! I would like to find out which blood type I am sometime in the future. I am kind of shy, sometime unable to express my feeling and tend to be a perfectionist. However, I am not very… very patient! Looks like my blood type must be A.

As an America, I have no idea what my blood type is, but I have never met a Korean person that doesn’t know theirs. It’s pretty ridiculous. It’s also one of the first questions that Koreans ask when you meet them for the first time.

  4. Gabriel says:

My blood type is O. I would say that it does fit with this stereotype but I also fit the type A stereotype at the same type. I should be OA in this case 😀

    • Mishi says:

Well, technically types A and B blood can also be classified as AO or BO. Just a random fact 🙂

      • Jen says:

They can also be BB or AA, not just AO or BO, depending on your parents blood types. Ex: if your mom is B and your father is O you are BO, but if both are B you are BB. This only has to do with your Blood group or gene and not the Rh type.

  5. Mike says:

I’ve found out that my blood type is O, not an A type of blood… I am wondering why most of typical stereotype in blood type A is still in me…

  6. Mika says:

I’m just going to tell everyone I’m blood type O! Haha.

PS. I love that you guys included a video summary on the bottom. Actually my friend is hard of hearing so she can’t enjoy all of the videos. So it’s quite helpful!

  7. Peggy says:

  16. Anonymous says:

I have no idea what my blood type is. I think I fit every category pretty well. From Type A, I fit all of those. From Type B, I fit everything except inconsiderate. From Type AB, I fit everything except emotional. From Type O, I think I’m just not easygoing and I don’t take leadership right away. I just feel like a guide possibly. I looked up blood types for Japan however, and I seem to fit type every blood type except B. They should invent a new blood type :).

  17. Grrr says:

My blood type is exactly me..How did they know this?

  18. Sisi says:

  20. mimi says:

    R o plus blood rare

  21. Lili says:

I’m Blood type B…That so fits me because I know I would never match up with A or O. I can act too much of a jerk when angered and manage to piss people off over and over again with my (AWESOME!!!!!!) Korean spirit. I’m as close as I can get to AB without being one because I will never be a genius.

  22. YeSeul says:

Blood type A – introverted, considerate, self-conscious, patient, unable to express emotions well and tend to be perfectionists…

    I can say I agree… 🙂

  23. Naomi says:

I’m B. and it fits me perfectly haha.

  24. Lisa says:

I am blood type O. Everything is pretty good except or being a leader. I am absolutely not :p I prefer to let others do the leading.

  25. Jeff Elwell says:

Your comment…Judging from the descriptions, I would say I’m a type A or AB… I need to check on that. Very cool info 🙂

  26. Sarah Potter says:

According to the descriptions, I am type A….. but I am actually type B….

What I find interesting is that I’m nothing like type B.
My personality is exactly like type A

  27. Ify says:

From the comments above, it looks like most type O’s don’t agree to being a natural leader. I felt the same way at first but when I thought about it some more I realized that natural leaders are people who are capable of delegating and trusting in other people’s ability. They don’t’ have to do everything, just give ideas and things will still get done. They express themselves freely, so followers are always clear on what the boss wants, even while he/she is out having dinner or clubbing… lol

  28. Kc Kun says:
