Musical Dr. Jekyll and Hyde, World Tour

March 10th to May 21st, 2017

Musical Jekyll and Hyde is a joint production of South Korea’s OD Musical Company and the U.S.’ Work Light Production. This musical in Korea is in English with Broadway Actors. The Korean production has grown so popular that it will start in Korea and will then go on a world tour. The musical is based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1886 novel, “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” a long time classic. The show is 2 hours and 50 minutes long with an intermission of 20 minutes. David Swan will be directing, and Broadway actors and actresses Kyle Dean Massey, Lindsey Bliven, and Diana Degarmo will play Jekyll, Emma and Lucy, respectively.

Seoul Marathon 2017




March 19th, 2017 , starting 8:00 am

Seoul Marathon 2017 is held by the city of Seoul, and is divided into two types of races: Seoul International Marathon (full course and 42195 relay) and Seoul Challenge 10k. Anyone  over 18 and under 60 may join the Seoul Marathon, but we’d suggest having a little bit of training before jumping onto this 26 mile jog. Dong-sung Bae, Ha ha, and Prime will be the three main MCs to run the show. After the marathon, there will be an afterparty, featuring Skull & Ha ha, Baechigi, and Hello Venus. Maybe you can just show up to the afterparty.

NICK KNIGHT: IMAGE

October 6th, 2016 to March 26th, 2017

Daelim Museum has been holding the “NICK KNIGHT: IMAGE,” this exhibition in Seoul for the past few months, and will come to a conclusion at the end of this month. Nick Knight OBE is a British fashion photographer and founder of showstudio.com, a hub for fashion film and fashion holding. This fashion exhibition in Seoul consists of around 100 photos, videos, and installations, and is divided into 6 parts. In 01. SKINHEADS of the skinhead culture from 1979 to 1981. In 02. PORTRAITS, Knight collaborates with notable artists to produce drastic black and white portraits, many of which capture drastic movements in 2D. The rest include, 03. DESIGNER MONOGRAPHS, 04 PAINTING & POLITICS, 05. STILL LIFE & KATE, and 06. FASHION FILM.

Korea Style Week

March 23rd to 27th, 2017

Korea Style week is a exhibition at Coex that combines fashion and fairs. If you’re in the fashion business, or want to get a start, come here to get your foot into the door. This fashion fair in Korea showcases the latest trends in Korea and even Asia, and has succeeded in attracting fashion people from all over Korea. There are many events held along with the exhibition, such as styling classes and flea markets..

Star Wars Rogue One

Who doesn’t love Starwars? Everyone had probably daydreamed of being Luke Skywalker fighting in the galaxy saving the world. Now, at Hanam Starfield, you can experience being the main character and fangirl over yoda. At the exhibition, there will be Star Wars spacecraft interior designs, sophisticated large size original props, RFID tagging interactive contents, ILM produced exclusive videos, 4D rides, and X-wing VR simulation rides to fully engage in the Starwars experience. Venue is located in Hanam City, a suburb of Seoul.

The Great Graffiti

December 9th, 2016 to March 27th, 2017

The Seoul Arts Center (예슬의전당) and Minoa Art Asset are presenting, “The Great Graffiti exhibition” until the end of March. This collection will present how vandalism has evolved over the years into graffiti and how it has become a way of expression in the field of art. For those looking for a unique art exhibit in Seoul, this month will be the last to catch a form of art that’s difficult to see in Seoul. This unique exhibition in Seoul will have over 60 works from some of the most well-known graffiti artists around the world, including JR, Nick Walker, JonOne, Crash and others.

Everland Tulip Festival

March 17th to April 24th, 2017

The Everland Tulip Festival is an annual event held for a total of 39 days. During this time, the most popular amusement park in Korea is beautifully decorated with 1.2 million tulips of a 100 species such as Apeldoorns and the Pink Diamond. This year, a large “Flower Magic Tower” will be newly placed between Four Seasons Garden and Temple Garden. Additionally,  “LED Musical Rose Gardens” filled with artificial roses will change into various colors according to the musicals during the night. Near the Oriental Restaurants, there will be flower carriages that will sell some of the tulips on display. With various scene stealers and spring themed flower ornaments adorning the whole area, this March festival in  plans to hold a unique festival hoping it to become a landmark.

Jeju Fire Festival

March 2nd to 5th, 2017.

Description: Jeju Fire Festival is a cultural festival that was first held in 1997, Jeju Island. This popular festival in Korea originates from a tradition where each village comes together between late winter and early spring to remove leftover grass  and eliminate harmful insects. The aim is to pray for good harvest and health for the next year. After a few changes in the location, this festival in Jeju has been held in Saebyeol Oreum area since 2000. The festival also additionally holds folk games available for visitors. The main events include celebration (torch-lighting ceremony), performances (world culture exchange and concerts), hands-on event (making traditional Jeju food, kite flying, and Oreum hiking), folk markets (local product promotion booths) and contests (stone lifting, or deum dol deul gi). If you’re visiting Jeju in March, stop by, this is one of the best festivals in Korea to visit.

Yeongdeok Crab Festival

March 23rd to 26th, 2017

Yeongdeok is a town in Korea well-known for its crabs, and the 20th Yeongdeok Crab Festival is for crab lovers from all over Korea out. Snow crabs used to be served to kings and queens as part of the royal meal, but these days anyone who visits this March festival in Korea can eat the king’s meat. The crab festival is held for four days, and there are various attractions and experience centers provided. This year, there will be over 100 crab shops for at the festival. Programs include auctions, fishing, chef competitions, and band festivals.

Note: shops may close early if crabs are all sold out.

2017 Seoul Motor Show

March 31st, 2017 to April 9th, 2017.

Seoul Motor Show 2017 is a biennial event and international auto show held at KINTEX hosted by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA). The show under the theme “Design the future, enjoy the moment” will be displayed in a total of 91,131 m². The Seoul Motor Show is the fourth biggest auto show in Asia and has been held since 1995. This year, a total of 300 cars, 130 Korean and 170 foreign, will be displayed, two of which are new world premier cars, 17 Asia premiers, and 13 Korea premiers. Aside from these, there will also be camping cars, motorcycles, tuning cars, and just about anything car lovers would want to see. New hybrid technology cars will be displayed, some of which you can ride. One of the new car technologies can drive cars automatically, sensing obstacles at a speed of 40km/ph. If you’re not really a tech person, you can check out the history room, where cars from the Japanese colonial era to the 1960s are displayed. There will be explanations, multimedias, illustrations, and trick art to let you enjoy this show in Korea.

Nice to Meet You – Featuring Zion T, C Jam, etc

Playce is a complex cultural space in Jeju Island that has everything from shopping to partying, and guests at Playce will be provided with three days of fun this March. On March 3rd, there will be a viewing party for La La Land with food and a rooftop party. On the second day, singers and rappers like Zion T and C Jam of Show me the Money will be visiting for a free concert. On the last day, there will be an after party for those drinking all night.       King Crab ends in March, but there’s Gwanganlli Eobang Festival from March 28th to 30th! Also, there will be many cherry blorrom festivals, such as Jinhae Gunhang Festival, Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival, and Seokchon lake cherry Blossom Festival.

    I was looking at few places near city Changdeokgung Secret Garden and yongsan family park or yeoido. Would you recommend which area is better and have more exercise crowd .
