Korea Q&A: Tatted Korean Wives Giving Violent Punishments!

It’s been a while since we’ve made a Korea Q&A Video, but this time we’re bringing someone new! 11x11pm is a rapping and ranting YouTuber, Facebooker, Twitterer. And she came to help your homie Keith answer a few questions including tattoos, Korean wives, and violent punishments!

Old school Koreans used to do this. Moving in with the in-laws and taking care of them was pretty much expected. Actually, being awesome at family used to be something Korean women used to aspire to (some actually still do). And don’t be mistaken, living and taking care of in-laws is definitely still common, even in modern day Korea. But it’s not necessarily the case anymore. If they have the money, many people will prefer to do without the in-laws.

Sure man. Just get that sim card at the airport and call your baby’s momma. Or your League of Legends buddy. Or whoever gets you excited.

No idea why there are violent punishments. But it’s fun!! Don’t you love seeing your friends cower in fear of your unusually large index finger? If you want to see what Korean mom punishments are like, watch out video here!

Tattoos are definitely up to the person. The old school way of thinking of tattoos was that they were only for gangsters. But they mostly get the really stereotypical gangster tattoos of dragons and such. But with young’n Koreans, tattoos are like fashion statements. There’s tribal bands, cute little designs, and the obligatory lettering in a different language. It really depends. Also, if  you’re a foreigner (and you look like a foreigner), you kind of get a free pass.

Did you know Yahoo! gave up on Korea? They had a huge office downtown Seoul. But one day they said screw Korea, we’re outta this piece! That’s because Korea’s internet is dominated by Naver and Daum. Google only has 2% of searches in Korea. So it is still much more underdeveloped than the two main sites. Problem is, if you’re using maps, you’ll most likely have to type and read in Korean. 😛 Good luck buddy!

Korea’s the land of… well… Korean food. So go to any supermarket and they’ll have many types of kimchi, rice and other Korean foods. If you love Korean food, supermarkets will be heaven. But pasta? Not so much. It’s a foreign food, so there’s not going to be a lot of variety. If you want the most variety, go to one of the big name department stores like Lotte or Shinsaegae. They have import foods. But they’re expensive, yo.

Younger Koreans are the only ones that really pay attention to these things. You know when you’re in middle school, and everything is life or death and super dramatic? These days are for them. Actually, older people celebrate Valentine’s Day and White Day. Some people are into 100day/200day/300day anniversary celebrations, until they get married. But an old fart like me (I’m 30) couldn’t care less! Plus, I’m mega anti-romance.

    Yeah, Serine can come back.

But I might not be totally objective about that… She said at the end to leave a comment and to be honest, I think if she asked me to set myself on fire I probably would.

  2. da99 says:

This was a fun and informative video.
I hope you two do more videos together.
BTW: the 11x11pm logo is pretty cool.

  3. Wannabe Fob says:

I recently LISTENED to (not watched music vid.) Crayon Pop’s “Bah Bah Bah” song. Is it the worst song in the history of K-Pop?
