How to Take the Comforts of Home with You on Your Trip to Seoul

Traveling is fun, exciting, full of adventure that broadens who you are and exhausting all at once. Sometimes when you’re so very far away from home, you just need to feel some of the comforts of home to make you feel a little more like yourself and rejuvenated.

You’re taking the trip of a lifetime. You’re flying halfway around the world to Seoul, South Korea. That’s a long way from home. This is the furthest you’ll ever be from where you live. You’re really excited about it, but you’re also nervous because you’ve never gone anywhere so far out of your comfort zone. So, wouldn’t it be nice to have some home comfort with you or within reach while you’re on this awesome trip? And wouldn’t be nice also to watch your favorite local movies and shows while you on the road? We are explaining below how to stay connected to your TV, but you can also click here and learn how to stream television shows while travelling overseas.

Pack Plenty of Your Favorite Snacks

But first, let us talk about snacks. We all have our favorites when it comes to food. Traveling somewhere new means that we get to experience local foods that are popular there. That’s amazing. You’re going to Seoul, and one way to really experience a place like this is through the food the native people eat there. You should chow down on some seolleongtang (ox broth soup), or take in the kimchi that Korea is known for. But, in between tasting the local specialties, being able to taste home will help you feel the comfort of where you live. The things you like to keep around for snacking on probably won’t be available in Seoul so thinking about packing your favorite snacks before you go is a really good idea.

Set Yourself Up to Watch Your Favorite Shows

A huge part of our lives that provides us with comfort are the shows we like to watch. So, picture this. You’ve been out for an incredible day of sightseeing in Seoul. You went to see Gyeongbokgung, Cheonghwadae (the president’s house), and topped the day off at Changgyeonggung with its beautiful pond and gardens. Now, all you want to do is sit back and watch a few episodes of your favorite show.

If you haven’t thought about this before you left for your trip, there’s a good chance that you’ll get a message telling you that what you’re trying to watch online isn’t available where you’re at. That just means that the streaming service you’re attempting to access knows that you are not in the U.S. The only way for you access the content you’re trying to get to is to make the provider of that content think that you are still in the U.S. You can do that with a VPN.

There are a few reasons that you won’t be able to get the content you want in Seoul. There are restrictions that the services put on for watching only in certain geographic areas. Money is involved through contracts. Some countries have different censoring laws governing what can and can’t be shown there. Something that might be legal in one country could be illegal to show in another.

A VPN will let you take all of your favorite shows from whatever streaming service you use with you wherever you travel. You should definitely look into setting this up before you go on your trip to Seoul. Then, you can binge-watch from just about anywhere in the world.

Coffee Anyone?

If you’re someone who has a relationship with coffee that goes deeper than just having a cup every now and again, then you should think about packing some of your favorite coffee to take with you. Traveling to Seoul is such an amazing thing to do, but it will probably be more enjoyable if you can start your day the way you do at home, with that all-important perfect cup of joe.

If you’re unsure about if there will be a coffee maker where you’re staying in Seoul, then just get yourself a French press to take with you. You can certainly find hot water for making your coffee. You can brew a coffee and feel like you before you set off on your adventures for the day.

Take Your Comfy Clothes

Many of us lounge around at home in comfy clothes. Whether it’s the pajama pants you love to wear, or big, baggy sweatpants, you should put your favorite comfy pieces of clothing in your suitcase as soon as you start packing. You’ll want them when you sit down to watch those shows you already planned for when you set up the VPN.

Now Go Pack

Seoul is awaiting you. You have chosen a destination for your trip that will create memories you’ll never forget. Making this the best trip possible includes thinking about your down time and how to make yourself comfortable and the least stressed that you can. Planning ahead for the moments when you’re tired and missing home will take your trip from just a sightseeing tour to an all-around amazing life experience. So, go get packing and enjoy your trip to Seoul, South Korea.
