April 7th – 15th
The location of probably one of the most iconic photos of the Korean peninsula, the Jeju Canola Flower Festival on the beautiful island of Jeju has vibrant yellow flowers with fields as far as the eye can see dotted with ancient volcanic mounds. It’s the picture perfect place to frolic in a field of flowers if you’ve ever dreamt of doing so.
April 19th – May 13th
Surprisingly, a rural area on the western edge of the Korean peninsula is the location for one of the most famous tulip festivals in the world. It’s a ways out, but if you want to take a trip to the Korean countryside to see 1.5 million tulips arranged as unique pieces of art, this is the spring flower festival in Korea to check out.
March 17th – March 18th
One of the more under-appreciated flowers is the apricot tree. Coming a few weeks before the start of the Cherry Blossom season in Korea, the apricot trees has its own unique and beautiful bloom that cover the color spectrum from white to pink.
April 27th – May 13th, 2018
The mother of all spring flower festivals in Korea, the Goyang International Flower Exhibition is a world-class flower exhibition that nearly all the flowers that can be found in the must-see list of a botanist. With over 6.2 million types flowers in bloom, this is the ultimate buffet for horticulture lovers that want to smell the flowers.
March 17th – March 25th, 2018
One flower that should get the same attention as the cherry blossom festival is the plum flower festival. The spring flower festival in Goyang literally has trees that were around the same time as your great-grand-parents. These nearly-hundred year old trees are situated next to traditional Korean architecture that make for dramatic landscapes.
March 30th – April 1st, 2018
Loaded with ancient myths, holy mountains and spirited blooms, this beautiful spring flower festival in Korea has one of the most dramatic and romantic views of the entire country. The azalea flower bloom festival in Yeosu Korea is one reason to head to this famous coastal city and get some fresh air.
April 27th – April 29th, 2018
If you’d rather see the beautiful azaleas without having to take a trip down to Yeosu, you can find another one of the azalea flower festivals right next to Seoul in the satellite city of Gunpo, only a short bus ride away.
